Kyowa Kirin International is a rapidly growing specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in the development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for the treatment of unmet therapeutic needs in major western markets. Its Established Medicines Business Unit (EMBU) operates across 30 countries, has a diverse range of medicines and its medicines are used by clinicians to treat over one million patients. These medicines, when used to treat their illnesses and symptoms, have the goal of enabling patients to live happier, healthier lives.

Spreng Thomson support the Leadership Team and their HR function by advising on, designing and implementing creative internal communications initiatives. These include live webinars, podcasts and creative ideas - all with the aim of promoting community engagement, transparency and team building.


Project

The challenge

Our client responded immediately at the start of the pandemic, identifying an urgent need to refocus on maximising internal communications. We were tasked with designing a programme of live webinars and podcasts featuring their leadership team and other key team members from across the EMBU side of the business.

Approach

How we used creativity to design the right response

We managed the pre-production, live and post-production processes to ensure a smooth and high-quality experience for all involved – with a journalistic flair for detail throughout. We used a structured approach ensuring that all content supported the strategic aims of the organisation. Key outputs included:

• Scoping topics and themes

• Writing host scripts

• Occasional presentation of webinars

• Designing webinar graphics

• Writing internal communications

• Technical rehearsals and participant briefings

• Hosting webinars on our Zoom platform

• Post-production: editing recordings for internal distribution

Delivering results

One impact which is difficult to communicate with numbers, is the nature in which we collaborated with our client, to unearth inspiring stories about their people. Human connection and authenticity is everything, and we’re proud that their team responded so positively by attending and engaging with the programme.
