Abbeyfield Scotland, the charity which provides support for older people, has had two of its houses shortlisted in the National Housing for Older People Awards.

The prestigious awards are designed to raise the profile of retirement housing throughout the country and encourage people to vote for their favourite residential development. This year over 10,000 votes were cast for the 1180 nominated housing development or schemes across the UK.

Abbeyfield’s Park House in Bridge of Allan has been shortlisted as a finalist in the awards with Abbeyfield House in Coatbridge being highly commended.

Carolynn Malone, Service Manager for Abbeyfield Scotland said: “We are thrilled to have two of our houses recognised in these important awards. Our staff and volunteers are extremely dedicated and work hard across all our houses. It’s great that the team in Bridge of Allan and Coatbridge have been recognised in this way as these awards are highly prized. We look forward to the awards ceremony in May.”

The Awards will be celebrated at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham on 16th May 2017 where the bronze, silver and gold awards winners will be announced.
