Stagecoach Christmas jumpers

‘tis the season for Christmas jumpers at Stagecoach

Bus passengers on Stagecoach West Scotland’s services could hardly believe their eyes today (13th December) when the bus doors opened to reveal Santa, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and even a snowman at the wheel.

Stagecoach drivers entered the festive spirit by joining in Christmas Jumper Day for the first time as they travelled across the West of Scotland.

Stagecoach West Scotland is the official sponsor of Cash for Kids Mission Christmas so its staff and drivers were raising funds to help make sure as many children as possible across Scotland have presents to open on Christmas morning.

Stagecoach West Scotland operates local bus services throughout Ayrshire and Arran, Dumfries and Galloway and parts of Lanarkshire, including a network of express services into Glasgow city centre.

Fiona Doherty, Managing Director at Stagecoach West Scotland, said:

“Christmas can be a real challenge for many families and as the proud sponsor of Cash for Kids Mission Christmas I am really pleased to see so many of the team at Stagecoach getting involved and helping to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“We’ve had so much fun today and I’d like to thank everyone at Stagecoach for taking part, particularly our drivers for being such good sports. I hope our passengers enjoyed seeing them showing off their Christmas woollies.”

Billy McCann, Bus Driver at Stagecoach West Scotland, said:We’ve had a day of festive fun on our buses as part of Christmas Jumper Day but it’s important to remember the true spirit of this time of year as we help raise funds for charity.

“There was no room for Bah Humbug on such an important day for Stagecoach West Scotland and Cash for Kids and I’d like to thank all the passengers who complimented me on my festive knitwear!”

In another Christmas initiative designed to help families at such a busy time of the year, Stagecoach West Scotland is currently running a ’Kids go for £1’ promotion. Kids aged 15 or under can travel with an adult for £1 on all its routes every weekend in December and through the school holidays until Sunday 5th January. All children under five continue to go for free.
