Ascensos to support the 4Ps life changing project

Ascensos, the contact centre management specialist, which opened a customer service centre on the Isle of Wight last year, has joined forces with the 4Ps, a life changing community programme for young people.

The partnership, announced today (3rd May), will see Ascensos support the 4Ps programme by offering work placements at its contact centre in Cowes, providing volunteer support and assisting with project funding.

The 4Ps is a not for profit radio course designed to help young people build their confidence and communication skills using radio as a form of therapy and teaching the four main ingredients of radio – presenting, production, promoting and podcasting.

The 4Ps Training School, based at Vectis Radio on the Isle of Wight, provides courses for children and young adults aged between 11 and 19, and up to age 25 with additional needs. Young people from Isle of Wight College and pupils from St. George’s School, in Newport, a special school for young people with severe and complex needs, are regular attendees at the 4Ps.

Ascensos is a specialist contact centre business that manages bespoke and specialised multi-channel customer contact solutions, including social media customer engagement and insights for a range of blue chip retailers.

John Devlin, CEO of Ascensos, said: “The 4Ps is a wonderful project which is making a real difference to young people on the Isle of Wight, providing them with a great opportunity to build confidence and improve on their communication skills.

“Ascensos is now a very proud partner of this amazing community project which offers life changing support to young people on the Isle of Wight. Being able to communicate effectively is a key ingredient for the team at Ascensos and we are looking forward to playing a part in helping young people improve these skills.”

Ian Mac, 4Ps Course Leader, said: “Everyone involved in the 4Ps programme would like to say a massive thank you to John and the team at Ascensos for showing their support and really getting behind what we are doing here.

“We have had unbelievable success with the programme and over 120 young people have completed the course since its launch in 2013. A wide range of people from different backgrounds have benefited from the programme with many going on to become presenters with Vectis Radio.

“With the help and support of Ascensos we look forward to seeing even more young people benefiting from the 4Ps project.”
