Scottish-based business angel syndicate, Archangels, has appointed Shaolei McKie as its Investment Executive.

Shaolei will support Archangels’ executive team in undertaking due diligence, business performance analysis, legal and investor liaison both for Archangels’ existing portfolio of investee companies and for new investment opportunities.

Archangels, the prominent business angel syndicate based in Edinburgh, has been at the forefront of early stage investing in Scotland for a quarter of a century.

A Chartered Accountant, Shaolei joins Archangels from Edinburgh-based Corran Properties where she has been Financial Controller since 2012. Her previous career has spanned the financial investment and banking sectors.

Shaolei said:

“I really enjoy assessing and evaluating businesses and this role enables me to provide essential analysis for Archangels that will support their investment strategy for both existing companies and for early stage investment opportunities.”

Eric Young, Chairman of Archangels, said:

“At Archangels we have always recognised that to be an effective and supportive investor we need to fully understand the dynamics of the businesses we are providing funding for. I am confident that Shaolei’s appointment will further underpin the important role that the Archangels executive team plays in our investment strategy.”
