Forth Ports

Scottish Apprenticeship Week

The Spreng Thomson team has had a busy time gathering and creating engaging content for our client Forth Ports Limited. In preparation for, and during Scottish Apprenticeship Week, we visited some of Scotland’s ports to film senior members of staff and apprentices. We kicked off the recordings at the iconic Queensferry crossing, had a lovely sunny day of filming at the Port of Leith and ended the week on a high at the Port of Grangemouth with a visit to the INEOS Grangemouth plant.

Political visits

Alongside Scottish Apprenticeship Week, we also had the pleasure of supporting political visits to two of Scotland’s busiest ports. We supported the Forth Ports team with the visit of Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, to Scotland’s key strategic freight hub at the Port of Grangemouth.

We also supported the visit of The Secretary of State for Scotland, The Rt. Hon. Alister Jack to the Port of Leith. He was given an extensive tour around Scotland’s largest renewables hub by Forth Ports Chief Executive Designate, Stuart Wallace, and spoke to national media on site.

Awards

We were also honoured to be involved with the announcement of Forth Ports CEO Charles Hammond OBE winning the lifetime achievement award from the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce. Charles has been active in the ports sector for over 30 years and his outstanding service to the business community was acknowledged by Edinburgh Chamber Chief Executive.

Glasgow Bus Alliance

It was also great to work with the Glasgow Bus Alliance in launching their independent travel survey in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University. This survey gives the people of Glasgow and the surrounding areas a chance to have their voices heard on the future of bus transportation in and around the city. Local media covered the launch of the survey on their channels and expect to see it across a variety of platforms in the coming weeks. You can take part in the survey here.
