Entrepreneurial Scotland, in association with Deloitte and media partner, The Herald, today (Thursday 7 July) opens nominations for its annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Celebrating Scotland’s top entrepreneurial talent, the event focuses on two awards – ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ and ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year’ – honouring those individuals who have excelled in business over the past 12 months. Nominees are invited from all sectors and can be company founders, CEO’s and leaders of innovative organisations or family businesses.
Nominations remain open until Wednesday 31st August and can be made by anyone who believes their candidate qualifies. Successful nominees will then be assessed by a panel of judges, made up of industry experts, who will visit contenders and their businesses as part of the evaluation process. Winners will be announced at Entrepreneurial Scotland’s annual dinner at the Doubletree Hilton, Glasgow on St Andrew’s night, Wednesday 30th November 2016.
Last year the illustrious Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Mike Loggie, Chief Executive of Saltire Energy, with Julie Wilson and Amy Livingstone the founders of Cheeky Chompers announced as the Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year.
Previous winners include some of the country’s most high-profile entrepreneurs such as Sir Tom Hunter of Sports Division, Ann Budge of Newell & Budge, David Milne of Wolfson Microelectronics, Simon Howie of the Simon Howie Group, Jim McColl OBE of Clyde Blowers, Hamid Guedroudj of Petroleum Experts, Peter Vardy of Peter Vardy Motors and Mike Welch of Blackcircles.com.
