We are pleased to share the first podcast in a series which we’re producing for design studio, Graven. Head of Digital, Meadhbh, reflects on the process.
It was pre-pandemic times. Dylan Macdonald and I lugged the filming kit to Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel. We were going for a show around of the Luxury Penthouse Suite (if it’s good enough for Stormzy…) and the gorgeous Bo & Birdy Restaurant. Then the world changed forever and editing a video about a sumptuous Penthouse slipped down everyone’s list of priorities.
Fast forward a few months and Elle Decoration mention Graven in their Getaway: Glasgow city guide. This was the perfect moment to revisit the video and give listeners some rare insight from Jim Hamilton and Ross Hunter.
I like hearing the ambient sounds of the restaurant too. It seems so remarkable now after months of being in lockdown. Champagne corks popping, mixologists shaking cocktails, people engaging in chat. I can’t wait to visit the Blythswood again soon and, perhaps, sit in that corner booth with coffee, or something stronger.
