{"id":792,"date":"2018-05-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sprengthomson.com\/macfarlane-group-plc-agm\/"},"modified":"2024-04-12T13:05:03","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T13:05:03","slug":"macfarlane-group-plc-agm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sprengthomson.com\/macfarlane-group-plc-agm\/","title":{"rendered":"Macfarlane Group PLC AGM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Macfarlane Group PLC (\u201cMacfarlane\u201d) today publishes its Annual General Meeting (\u201cAGM\u201d) Statement covering 2018 to date.\u00a0 At the AGM in Glasgow Stuart Paterson, Chairman of Macfarlane, will say: &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGroup profit for the year to date is well ahead of that achieved in 2017 and, recognising the influence of the online retail sector in the second half of the year, the Board is confident that Macfarlane will perform in line with its expectations for 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Sales have grown by 11% compared to the same period in 2017.\u00a0 Our Packaging Distribution business has grown sales by 12% compared to 2017.\u00a0 This comprises 3% organic sales growth and 9% sales growth attributable to the Greenwoods acquisition in September 2017, which continues to perform well.\u00a0 Sales in our Manufacturing Operations are 4% above the equivalent period in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, net debt has reduced from the 31 December 2017 level and the Group\u2019s committed bank facilities have been increased to \u00a330m.
