{"id":766,"date":"2018-04-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sprengthomson.com\/oregon-constructs-independent-future\/"},"modified":"2018-04-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-02T00:00:00","slug":"oregon-constructs-independent-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sprengthomson.com\/oregon-constructs-independent-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Oregon\u00a0constructs independent future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Selkirk-based timber frame manufacturer\u00a0<\/strong><strong>constructs independent future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Selkirk-based Oregon Timber Frame Limited (\u201cOregon\u201d) has completed a buy-out of its non-management shareholders, including the 15% stake in the business held by its largest external shareholder group, Archangel Investors (\u201cArchangels\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The move brings to a close a near 20 year relationship between Oregon \u2013 one of the UK\u2019s largest independent timber frame house manufacturers \u2013 and Archangels, the Edinburgh-based business angel investment syndicate.<\/p>\n<p>Oregon, which was established in 1998, specialises in the design, manufacture and erection of structural timber frame packages to volume house builders and developers. The business is trading strongly and in its most recent accounts, for 2016, reported record turnover of \u00a321.7m and pre-tax profit of \u00a31.9m.<\/p>\n<p>From its headquarters in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, and an additional manufacturing plant in Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire, Oregon employs 148 people and continues to benefit from strong demand from the UK house building sector for timber framed structures, due to timber&#8217;s value as a sustainable, renewable building material.<\/p>\n<p>Rod Lawson, Chairman of Oregon, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArchangels has been a part of Oregon since the early days of the company and we\u2019re truly grateful for the support that they have provided to us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArchangels haven\u2019t just been investors, they\u2019ve been friends and mentors too.
