{"id":4276,"date":"2020-06-05T09:32:44","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T09:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sprengthomson.com\/?p=4276"},"modified":"2020-06-05T09:32:44","modified_gmt":"2020-06-05T09:32:44","slug":"loch-duart-invests-in-fish-processing-facility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sprengthomson.com\/loch-duart-invests-in-fish-processing-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"Loch Duart invests in fish processing facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Independent Scottish salmon farm will create new jobs in Dingwall <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lochduart.com\/\">Loch Duart<\/a>, the Sutherland and Uists-based producer of farmed salmon, has purchased its own fish processing facility for the first time in the company\u2019s 21-year history.\u00a0 The future aim is to provide the company with greater flexibility and control than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>Loch Duart has acquired the fish processing facility in Dingwall on the Black Isle previously owned by The Edinburgh Salmon Company. The facility was mothballed in 2018 and Loch Duart plans to refurbish the 52,000 square foot facility before opening. The move will result in the creation of up to 40 new jobs initially.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Warrington, Managing Director of Loch Duart, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is great news for Loch Duart and for our customers. It\u2019s an investment in our future. Having our own processing facility will eventually allow us to be more flexible and responsive to our customers\u2019 needs as we adapt to changing consumer behaviours in the new world that we all face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Loch Duart currently produces 6,000 tonnes of high quality salmon each year from its farms in Sutherland and the Outer Hebrides.
